Jim the anvil neidhart7/22/2023 ![]() It was worth the wait, though, and a fitting tribute to a good friend. For Hart, who worked so closely with Neidhart and shared so many memories with him, it was obviously hard for him to make a statement on the loss. Jim Neidhart, best known over a 24-year pro wrestling carer as 'The Anvil' and the father of current WWE superstar Natalya, died Monday. Pro wrestling is an industry full of people gone too soon, and when wrestlers have to deal with loss publicly it can be a very emotional thing. “Someday but far enough away, I hope to have a joyous meeting with the many friends and loved ones gone before and, when I make that crossover, I pray God will lead me straight to the Anvil,” Hart wrote. Hart said Neidhart helped him through some “dark” times and thanked him for his positive attitude and loyalty. The post is full of stories about his time with Neidhart and the impact he had on his career and his outlook on life. Professional wrestler Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart, part of the legendary Hart family wrestling dynasty, has died at the age of 63. “No loss has ever dimmed the light in my heart as this one,” Hart wrote. I would trust them to breathe for me, to pump my blood with their hearts." – Sebastian Faulks Love, Bret "I've met men I could trust in the mouth of hell. Thank you Anvil, for I owe you everything. Someday but far enough away, I hope to have a joyous meeting with the many friends and loved ones gone before and, when I make that crossover, I pray God will lead me straight to the Anvil. We were both always very proud of all of our accomplishments as the Hart Foundation but we we were always most proud of our friendship. When it came to wrestling teams like Andre the Giant and Haku, the British Bulldogs, the Nasty Boys, Demolition, and The Rockers, the Hart Foundation could work with any team and have the best match on the card. We were such a fun, fast, exciting, and formidable combination highlighting each other while always making our opponents. ![]() Pro wrestling is a profession where trust and loyalty are everything. Thank you Jim for a lifetime of happy and great memories. Aside from being my loyal friend, tag team partner, and brother-in-law, I can say Jim helped me keep my sanity during our numerous dark and lonely times. We never fought or argued about anything and we were always in agreement. We had always been close friends from the first time we met in Stampede Wrestling. Jim didn't need me so much as I needed him. He was the best friend I ever had and I owe him for everything good that ever came my way as a pro wrestler. He'll always be the "Anvil", the big rhino, the tank. The most beautiful thing about Jim was how on the longest days and in the most miserable times, he could always make you laugh. No loss has ever dimmed the light in my heart as this one. One of the things you realize about getting older is that not everybody is going to get older with you." – Cormac McCarthy I'm sorry for taking so long in making a statement about the recent passing of my longtime friend and companion Jim "Anvil" Neidhart. The night after the Hall Of Fame ceremony, Natalya will be challenging for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships with Beth Phoenix in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team match against The IIconics, Nia Jax and Tamina, and the champions Sasha Banks and Bayley."I've lost a lot of friends over the past few years. My dad knew the WWE family was his family and he was right where he belonged: home. ![]() He also ran into “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, JBL, Fit Finlay, Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Alundra Blayze, Gene Okerlund, John Cena, Ric Flair and so many others who he greatly respected and shared moments in and out of the ring with. My dad felt like the belle of the ball! Shane McMahon made a mad dash to my dad to hug him and tell him what he meant to him. ![]() I had this feeling that he needed to come as I wanted him to be around his old friends, family and our WWE Universe, and to have everyone make a fuss over him like I knew they would. Last year, I brought my dad to WrestleMania 34. It was my promise to my dad to see his career honored as I wanted to help keep his legacy alive. I kept telling him not to worry and that it was all about timing and it would eventually happen. My dad really wanted to be in the Hall Of Fame and it was something we talked about a lot. Everything from professional football to being a world-class shot putter, but nothing meant as much to my dad as what he accomplished in the ring as a WWE Superstar. My dad excelled at so many sports in his life. Bret and I talked about how we both wished that my dad could be here to accept this Hall of Fame induction but we know he would have been so thrilled at this honour.
